The Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (OGPS) is seeking current or past PIBS students who can design a creative, innovative, and professional logo for the Program in Biomedical Sciences (PIBS) 20th Anniversary Celebration. The logo should be recognizably PIBS and reflect the 20th Anniversary Celebration. The rest is up to you!

How to Enter

The contest will begin on March 1st, 2019. Submissions will be accepted through April 1st, 2019. The student who designs the winning logo will receive a prize of $250 (and bragging rights!). The winner will be announced via our website and PIBS social media.

Contestants may enter no more than 2 logo designs. In order for your entry to be submitted and reviewed, all entries must be:

  1. Submitted directly to Catherine Garber, before April 1st at 11:59pm
  2. Submitted as a high resolution .pdf (300 dpi or higher) AND as the original (Adobe) file source

Logo Requirements

Professional – The logo will be featured on the OGPS website, social media, printed materials, and swag items, so it must be eye-catching and legible. It must be easily scalable for large or small formatting. Formatting can be horizontal or vertical in orientation.

Theme – The logo must represent the 20th Anniversary of the PIBS program.

Color – There are no limitations on color. However, the logo must look good in color (if any) or black and white.

Integrity – Logos cannot contain copyrighted material or licensed images. The Block M must NOT be used. Logos must have been created and edited by the contestant, who must be a current PIBS student or PIBS alum.

Contest Details

The winner will be selected by the PIBS 20th Anniversary Celebration Committee. By submitting a design, contestants agree that OGPS may publish their logo on celebration materials and that their name will be announced as winner. Contestants assign all ownership rights, including all intellectual property rights for the logo, to the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Additionally, OGPS may alter, modify, or revise the logo as it sees necessary. OGPS reserves the right to not select a winner if, in its discretion, no suitable entries are received.
